Accountability to Affected People
The Joint Hub provides technical support to WFP and UNHCR operations to establish new, or strengthen existing, joint feedback mechanisms. The Joint Hub also assists in the development of joint community engagement strategies, community consultations, key messages and information sharing campaigns, and the establishment of appeals processes as an essential part of the targeting and prioritization of assistance.
The establishment of new, or strengthening of existing, joint feedback mechanisms, including:
- Raising awareness of feedback mechanisms
- Receiving feedback, complaints and appeals
- Ensuring quick and safe referrals
- Closing the feedback loop
- Quality assurance
- Monitoring users’ satisfaction
- Data analysis and reporting for programmatic and strategic decision-making
Accountability to Affected People (AAP) support for targeting exercises, including:
- Joint community engagement strategies
- Community consultations
- Key messages and information sharing campaigns
- Appeals processes
In 2024, the Joint Hub published a set of four technical documents on joint appeals processes for targeted assistance based on lessons learned from our work in Uganda, Rwanda, Niger, Mauritania and other countries we supported, with valuable inputs from UNHCR and WFP headquarters teams.
